After the great success of the Xmas Curry / Chinese night, we are going to do it again on Thursday 16th February. The format will be similar to the last event, where most people chose their order and paid the week before, so some one can order it on the night. If you can’t make it week before to order, just turn up on the night with your food to eat at 9.00PM
I’m sure we will have another great night.
I’m up for this one… Instead of having a big xmas event this year, we have decided to have a food delivery to us on a normal club night - Thursday 22nd December. Chinese & Curry seem to be the firm favorites.
We are going to have to order the food fairly early (no later than 8:00PM) to give the people an hour to cook and deliver, so if you can’t get here before then, I will have the menu’s available a week before, so you can choose and pay then. I’m going to open up early (7:00PM) on this night too.
A great night was had by all. Everyone who attended had a fantastic night fun and frights. We played games like ‘find the bats’, and a we had a fancy dress competition which was won by Les Nash for his great Frankenstein costume - some have said he was made for it. Little Reef won the prize for the best childrens costume, he came as a very scary ghost.
I’d sure we would all like to thank Heidi & Chris for all the effort they put into the night. We had lots to eat, and we made a tidy profit on the beer sales. Lets hope we can have another fantastic event soon.
I’m gonna put some pics of the night in the gallery section soon.
There’s a fair bit of news for you after the committee meeting on Tuesday night…
1. Club rhib to be sold.
We have been made an informal offer to purchase the club’s Rhib for £1000. The committee has agreed in principal to sell for that amount of money as it’s not being used. We are awaiting a confirmation of the offer. Any more bids…?
2. Bar to go ‘bottles only’.
As most of the regular punters are now drinking the bottled beer, the effort in keeping a good pint of draft lager/beer/stout has outweighed the demand for it. We have decided to not buy any more barrels when the existing beer runs out. I will be looking to replace the lager and the stout with bottled varieties. If anyone has an old fridge they don’t need, I will be needing a couple of old one’s to keep the bottles cool out the back.
3. Car Rally - October 16th
Barry & Val Panter have organised a car rally for Sunday 16th October which will starting at Sixfield’s Car Park at 2.00 PM. This looks to be a great afternoon of fun, with maybe a few drinks and a Chinese/Curry afterwards.
4. Halloween Fancy Dress Party announced for 29th October - more details to follow
5. NBSAC Xmas Party announced for 10th December - more details to follow
The committee has decided to cancel the fancy dress party that was going to be held on Sat. 3rd Sept. This is due to the fact that alot of people would not be able to attend on that date. We are now looking to transform the event into a Holloween Fancy Dress at the end of October - I’ll have to check the exact date later.
On Saturday 3rd September 2005 from 7pm onwards we will be having a Fancy Dress Party.
Dress as you like (no theme) - Children welcome - Free entry.
We will vote on the best costume, the winning adult and child will get a box of chocolates each. Yippeee
I checked the the barrier after work today, and it has been completed. Looks like somthing has hit it before the concrete had time to dry though.
Looks like the new barrier has started to be errected on the road in front of the club. They have only put up one side so far, but it’s a good start. The pikeys have just (Thurs) set-up camp at the top of the street on Lings Way, so I hope they finish the barrier on Monday. Here’s a pic of the new steel work.
